The curriculum offers a comprehensive approach to healthcare leadership and strategy, structured in three distinct phases. This holistic approach ensures that you are well prepared to lead effectively, adapt to change, manage diverse teams, and contribute to your own success as well as your organization’s.
This phase includes developing decision making strategies, analyzing leadership needs for competing priorities, and adapting organizational frameworks. You will focus on assessing the social determinants of health, integrating social care, and creating organizational strategies for competitive advantage. It also covers balancing costs, access, quality and understanding value creation and emphasizes effective communication, stakeholder analysis, and ethical considerations in organizational practices.
This phase will help you understand and apply strategic initiatives within a healthcare setting. It emphasizes analyzing organizational culture and regional differences, recognizing resistance to change, and creating leadership plans. It also covers strategies for personal and team mastery, including performance and talent management, with a focus on feedback and coaching. Finally, it touches on negotiation techniques, including real-world applications and simulations.
This phase covers a broad range of practices and strategies to evaluate and enhance the performance of a healthcare organization. It includes financial analysis techniques such as interpreting profit and loss statements and variance analysis, along with budgeting methods to maintain financial health. It also delves into organizational design and redesign, including the use of SWOT models and RAPID decision making. You will also focus on population health, risk and crisis communication, and policy creation. Additionally, it includes an examination of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) leadership and well-being initiatives.
The Healthcare Leadership Program for Executives is uniquely positioned to connect you to a network of diverse healthcare leaders, each confronting unique challenges. Join your peers at the optional two-day in-person reunion and networking event, as part of the program, on the Emory University Goizueta Business School campus in Atlanta, Georgia. This event provides you with the opportunity to interact with peers from multiple cohorts and create a lifelong network of healthcare leaders.
